WIN7 OS. All updates current. At one time in 12/2014, I was able to uninstall and reinstall Adobe Air. Il'm only using it to run Pandora on the desktop. Then a few weeks ago, opening Pandora began to bring up a dialog box wanting to update Adobe Air. Never able to update. Tried uninstalling - successful. Then went to install again.
Now cannot install. Error message has always been the same: "Sorry, an error has occurred. An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator."
This is a stand alone PC and I am the admin. I am logged on as admin. Never mind that, I have been attempting all installations by right clicking on the exe and selecting "run as administrator." Never works.
I tried MS Fix It tool - didn't work. (MicrosoftFixit.ProgramInstallUninstall.RNP.Run.exe) Result was that there was no fix applied because no problem was found.
I tried System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) - didn't work. "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
I went through the Troubleshoot AIR Installation Document - no help. I tried several of the suggested fixes, including running services.msc and using the manual option - didn't work.
I have no installer log to share, because the program is not installed.
I'm fresh out of ideas and rather upset that this has to be so freaking difficult. I either get a solution or just give up on the Pandora desktop application.
I would appreciate any useful suggestions that might lead to a positive resolution.
thanks for your time and attention.
